AI for Defence – Pattern-of-Life Analysis

A central aspect of Defence is to maintain Situational Awareness of the space you are operating within. One part of this is to have a good understanding of the normal behaviour of people and systems in your area, also know as the Pattern-of-Life. In this presentation we will present applications of Machine Learning that help military staff in the maritime domain keep a high Situational Awareness. This is done by detecting suspicious behaviour in the form of anomalies relative to the normal Pattern-of-Life.

Bio: Søren Løfquist Stiil is AI Architect for SitaWare Insight, the product that brings AI and Data Analytics to Systematics SitaWare-suite which today is in use by NATO and more than 50 nations. Søren holds a Ph.d. in Computer Science and has worked with AI in the Defence industry for more than 8 years.
