Forskningens døgn is an opportunity to uncover some of the newest research in different areas by scientist working on danish universities.
In this webinar we are proud to anounce Luca Morelli, who is working at University of Southern Denmark
About the contest
"Microalgae may be small,
but they’re chemical powerhouses. Learn how these microscopic organisms make isoprenoids - molecules that are essential for ocean life and full of surprising possibilities in sustainable biotechnology and for a greener future.
These tiny organisms produce a remarkable range of molecules called isoprenoids, crucial for their survival and for life in the oceans. Isoprenoids come in many forms: some help algae capture sunlight, others protect them from stress, and many influence the organisms around them. For example, carotenoids are colorful molecules that shield algae from
UV light, while other specialized isoprenoids help shape entire ecosystems.
Researchers are now beginning to harness this chemistry, turning microalgae into sustainable sources of valuable compounds. Join us to discover how these microscopic organisms connect fundamental biology with real-world innovation. "
