Molten Salt Reactor (MSR) technology - Roadmap and prototypes
Two Danish start-up companies give their take on the future of molten salt reactors. Molten salt reactors are radically different from the classical solid fuel reactors build since the 1950s.
Denmark was a pioneering country in nuclear physics due to the contributions of Niels Bohr who promoted the establishment of the Risø National Laboratory with research reactors. The political climate changed, and Denmark decided not to pursue nuclear technology for power generation. Great ideas and potential are however difficult to subdue so against all odds a group of people began discussions and meetings about 10 years ago. Two companies emerged from this process: Seaborg Technologies and Copenhagen Atomics. Denmark is again making a mark on the world map of nuclear technology!
