“There are essentially no costs for finding at least one exploitable vulnerability and then designing an attack around it” was recognised by the US Air Force as early as in 1972. Security by design that’s affordable for all has remained a challenge for half a century ever since – but might we now be approaching it? Due to reach its full operational capacity in Spring 2024, the presentation by Foundation CR14 will offer an early sneak-peek into the Open Cyber Range concept, a joint Estonian and Norwegian innovation aimed at supporting cybersecurity at SMEs on a new level.
Bio: Siim Alatalu is the CEO of Foundation CR14 since March 2022. CR14 is an Estonian government-founded cyber defence and security hub based on more than 12 years of military-grade cyber range experience and hosting some of the biggest cyber exercises there are. Siim’s previous assignments include a range of jobs in cyber security (e.g. EU CyberNet, NATO CCDCOE) as well as in national security (Estonian MOD and NATO).
