SymPy is short for Symbolic Python, and this webinar will give you a practical introduction to this Python library that makes it possible to work symbolically in Python. We will be covering advantages and disanvantages, the use of the tool for mathematical tasks, drawing og and work with beautiful, flexible plots and illustrations, insight into the programming syntax of Python/SymPy, as well as setting up entire mathematical documents with Jupyter Notebook. The webinar will include small exercises with practical participation.
Target audience
The webinar is suited for students and fresh graduates that are not familiar with or who need a brush-up on SymPy. Knowledge about Python programming and fundamental engineering mathematics, as well as Latex, is recommended but not a requirement.
After the Webinar you will with SymPy be able to…
- Carry out advanced mathematical computations
- Handle variables and work with algebra (symbolic mathematics)
- Set up mathematical solutions in document form using Jupyter Notebook
- Carry out simple programming with loops and variable handling
- Plot and customize presentable graphs of data sets and curves
- Be aware of advantages and pitfalls in the syntax for mathematical use
Preparation Prior to the Webinar:
You will need to install Python/SymPy as well as Jupyter Notebook before the webinar. A guide for this will be sent to all participants a few days prior to the webinar.
NB: If you are already familiar with the above mentioned functionality, our recommendation is that you check out our other courses. At the course "Excel Advanced" you will learn how to build Pivot tables and use more advanced functions for data analysis.
Our webinar is designed for beginners who want a more general understanding of the software.
Finally, let us know in the evaluation if you have a request for courses on a specific software or level!
