Unlock the power of wastewater – Forskningens døgn
views
Wastewater treatment plants impact energy, climate, and water, making these facilities a major contributor to environmental challenges and climate change. But can we turn wastewater into a resource instead of a waste?
We have the pleasure to host an event within the frames of "Forskningens døgn". It will be a webinar with 20-30 minutes talk and some time for questions
About the talk
Can we unlock the power of wastewater? In this presentation we will look at, what would happen by unveiling the water-energy nexus, and reusing wastewater for district heating applications.
Heat recovery from wastewater enables the water sector to become more sustainable and reach the objective of being carbon neutral.
Wastewater could be seen as a resource instead of a waste and instead the wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) will become wastewater resource recovery facilities.
The project behind this presentation aims to transform WWTPs into water resource recovery facilities by converting wastewater into an energy source.
This work contributes to advancing towards the Sustainable Development Goals, helping Denmark to reach its goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and assess the potential to reuse wastewater for energy purposes.
