We set out to build a container platform based on sound principles, GitOps and Infrastructure as Code. We wanted to do what everybody else was doing, without doing anything weird, we did not expect that our needs would merit much custom development or breaking new ground.
In hindsight, we think we suffered from imposter syndrome and we hit many unexpected and fundamental obstacles we had to overcome.
In this talk, I present our journey and a small handful of the solutions we have created along the way to address some of the fundamental challenges in running a large scale container platform.
