Emerging risks and preparedness
Presentation at the 9th SRA-E Nordic annual conference Nordics, Baltics and the Arctic in Transition Uncertainties and Opportunities for Risk Analysis
Citizen preparedness has gained increasing prominence on political agendas in recent years and contemporary Nordic preparedness policies hold a growing emphasis on individual responsibility within emergency management, framing this responsibility as an active state of awareness and readiness.
Norway, Sweden, and Denmark have e.g. distributed nationwide information leaflets recommending concrete preparedness measures. This keynote builds on a Norwegian/Danish study of the policy implications of this approach in times with emerging risks and covers both the variations and similarities between the three Nordic countries.
