A new president-elect in the USA: What does the election result mean for Europe?
On November 13, 2024—a week after the U.S. presidential election—Think Tank EUROPA and Kongressen.com invite you to a conference about what the election result will mean for the U.S., Europe, and transatlantic relations.
The election result will not only shape the future of the U.S. but will also have significant consequences for Europe and transatlantic cooperation.
Since Joe Biden took office in January 2021, the global security landscape has become more complex. With Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as well as ongoing wars and increasing unrest in the Middle East, the liberal world order, which was established after World War II with the U.S. at the helm, is in turmoil.
Against this backdrop, the two presidential candidates have expressed divergent views on the NATO alliance—the primary guarantor of Europe's security—particularly regarding the U.S.'s commitment to Article 5. Thus, the presidential election sheds new light on the U.S.’s role in the world, transatlantic cooperation, and the West's support for Ukraine.
Therefore, Think Tank EUROPA and Kongressen.com invite you to a conference on Tuesday, November 13, about the U.S. presidential election and its implications for the U.S., the EU, and NATO. Together with leading Danish and international experts, we will dive into the election's significance for trade, democracy, and security on both sides of the Atlantic.
