DBI
At DBI, we work to promote fire safety in Power-to-X (P2X). We support the green transition, and we want to help companies, industries, and society reach the goals set in national and international climate agreements. P2X is destined to replace emission-heavy fuels with cleaner sources of energy coming from the conversion of stored renewable power surplus into hydrogen, methanol or ammonia. The technology is rapidly maturing, and the value chain is taking shape, but the transition is challenged by new interdependencies and complex changes in established systems. From production, storage, and distribution to handling, operation, and training, the transition requires changes on many levels. Since P2X is still in early stages, there is a possibility to shape its development, to help tackle issues early on, and reduce time-to-market for new P2X technologies. DBI endeavours to ensure adequate management of risks and safety levels, as well as exploring and understanding the practicalities of P2X related technologies and their use.
DBI specializes in holistic fire safety measures, especially when it comes to P2X. We work with:
- All fire safety and safety-related topics placed outside standards or prescriptive rule sets
- Risk assessments of complex settings and solutions
- Integrating human behaviour and public perception in P2X safety designs and practices
- Regulatory processes, guidelines, standards and procedures in P2X
The P2X work group manages a number of projects across the energy and maritime sectors, applying different perspectives on identified challenges and new developments with partners from both industry and academia. We are excited to present selected project insights, and share how we work with P2X at DBI.
